I am a physician who specializes in back pain and have reviewed the literature on back pain and mattresses. I found the most persuasive review in Consumer Reports. They could not give a clear recommendation but said to go to a store and lie on each side for five minutes. This was the best predictor of satisfaction one month down the line. I liked the Tempur Pedic for 3000 dollars at Bon Ton but wondered if the price was excessive. So I did a Wikepedia on viscoelastic foam and was impressed with the specs of this mattress offered on Amazon at 750 bucks!!! It has five inches of five pound density foam-please refer to Wiki article so I took a chance. Now the men with white gloves do not come to the door and take the old mattress away and if you feel that 2,250 bucks is worth it then this is not the one for you. I came home to find a box in my garage. I took the vacuum pack upstairs and bent it into shape, I couldn't wait. After two hours the mattress was ready. NO SMELL!!! There was NO SMELL!!! After trying it out it felt the same as the 3000 dollar mattress. I love you amazon. I love you Dynasty!!!

Had the mattress for a little over a month.
I live in two places and have a Tempurpedic King
at the other place. Had that one for 10 years and like it very much.
Bought this one for the other place and love it! Every bit as good!
It is a little firm, but foam breaks in after a while.
From the other reviews about the smell, all memory foam smells
when you first get it. You need to air it out for a week or two
and the smell goes away. You won't get sick, I have done this twice.
It is well worth it as once you get by this, you are going to
sleep like your 15 again! Welcome back to dream land....
I want to see the vacuum system they use to flatten this for shipping.
Must be impressive,as it is flat as a pancake when you get it.
Very cool watching it expand for several hours.
But it does and it sleeps just as good as the much more expensive Tempurpedic.
I do not right many reviews, but felt this product deserved it.

We bought this bed last month after doing alot of research. I can't imagine a better memory foam mattress anywhere. There is certainly an argument about whether a memory foam mattress is for you, but I don't believe that there is a better quality memory foam mattress on the market. It seems to keep you more warm than a normal mattress. I think that is because it forms around you. My wife and I love how warm it is because we always freeze. I would imagine that some guys out there that are always hot would have a bit of a problem with that. I sleep much much better than I did with my old pillow top mattress. It was a high quality mattress by the way. It comes from fedex rolled up like a carpet, but I think all memory foam mattresses are delivered that way. It does have a smell to it like it says in other reviews but it didn't bother us. Over the next few weeks it has gone completely away. I find it amusing that temperpedic have the try it free for 30 days or whatever promotion it is. We bought a King mattress and after you open the package, I can't imagine being able to ship it back. It is huge and almost impossible to move. It is much heavier than a regular mattress. If you plan on moving soon, and you buy a king, I hope you have a few strong friends. There is no way someone should by a temperpedic when you can buy this mattress for 20% of the price.

Ordered this mattress on 11/24/09, rec'd it on 12/1 (very fast delivery - Thanksgiving was in the middle of this time!).
Mattress feels the exact same as the advantage bed by the other guys- I was in the market for this style of mattress for a long time. I've owned other foam 'knock-offs', and this one is the real deal (also searched for knock-off's for 3 months). Unwrapped the bed, it expanded very quickly, and virtually no foul chemical smell (I expected there to be a smell).
Be sure you like a firm mattress, as this is quite firm (test the advantage bed in a local store for a similar feel)... for 5.3 lb density foam, this is terrific. I saved $1400, and couldn't be happier!

i bought this mattress because i was going to have trouble getting a standard king mattress up my stairs due to space constraints. i'm glad i did. it does smell a little bit at first and i let it air out after pulling off all of the packaging for a few days. the smell was pretty much completely gone by then and i'm noticing it less and less. i'd say in another week or so it will be gone completely. this is my first memory foam mattress and i have to say that i'm impressed. it feels really firm when you first lay down but it conforms to your body perfectly in just a few seconds. i literally fell asleep within the first 30 seconds i laid down on it the first time. i had heard that foam mattresses could get too hot. doesn't seem to be the case with this one. love it!
